About Me
My Story
After years of ignoring red flags, my marriage ended abruptly, leading to a profound and professional transformation. One weekend after a close friend’s wedding, it all ended. The details aren't crucial, but suffice to say it had been exhausting to maintain the facade of a "perfect" marriage. The dissolution of my marriage was not just painful but also a catalyst for personal growth and a reevaluation of my life’s purpose. During this tumultuous time, my family and close friends became my pillars of strength, offering unwavering support that carried me through the darkest moments.
At the time, my career was also in turmoil, and I was fighting for my financial survival. I always thought common sense and fairness would prevail in the family law system, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The next ten years involved countless court appearances, numerous mediators, various attorneys, and a revolving door of family law judges issuing inconsistent rulings. I discovered, to my dismay, that some judges had never even dealt with family law before. It was a real (and disheartening) eye-opener!
My disillusionment with the family court system ignited a passion to create ‘SplitSmart with Anna’, aiming to guide others toward fair and equitable divorce settlements through divorce financial planning and co-mediation services. I've witnessed court rulings that were disastrous for families, especially those with children.
My journey as a divorce financial analyst eventually expanded to include mediation and collaborative divorce services. With certifications as a Divorce Financial Analyst and extensive experience in mortgage and credit lending, I offer specialized insights to help clients navigate the financial complexities of divorce. I want to contribute to the world, not take away from it. The kindness and achievements of those I encounter inspire me daily. I strive to maintain a sense of humor and find joy in life’s journey, embracing each lesson along the way.
Beyond my career, I cherish my role as a devoted daughter to my supportive mother and as a proud single parent to two remarkable sons, whose kindness and humor continually inspire me.
